Praise the Lord with Joy | Words of Thought

"Words of Thought"

August 23rd, 2025

The following is taken from one of my Daily Devotional books.

How happy God has made me!

I will praise the Lord no matter what happens. I will constantly speak of His glories and grace. I will boast of all His kindness to me. Let all who are discouraged take heart. Let us praise the Lord together, and exalt His name. For Jehovah God is our Light and our Protector. He gives us grace and glory. No good thing will he withhold from those who walk in His paths. O Lord of the armies of heaven, blessed are those who trust in you. I bless the Holy name of god with all my heart.

Those who have reason to be thankful should continually be singing praises to the Lord. Be filled…with the Holy Spirit, and controlled by Him. Talk with each other much about the Lord, quoting psalms and hymns and singing sacred songs, making music in your hearts to the Lord. Always give thanks for everything to our God and father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Singing to the Lord with thankful hearts.

Around midnight…Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to the Lord. Always be full of joy in the Lord; I say it again, rejoice!

Below are some scriptures related to the above writing. All are from the KJV Bible.

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. Isaiah 61:10

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. Psalms 34:1-3

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee. Psalms 84:11-12

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Psalm 103:1

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. James 5:13

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Ephesians 5:18-20

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. Acts 16:25

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4
