Gen. Felix H. Robertson Camp No. 129, 7th Brigade
Members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans are mourning the loss of Camp Commander Markham Dossett, CDR, USN (Ret.), who passed away on March 24 following a horseback riding accident on his ranch.
Dossett, a longtime leader of Gen. Felix H. Robertson Camp No. 129, was remembered by fellow members as both a dedicated compatriot and a trusted friend. Camp leadership noted that his contributions to the organization were significant and left a lasting impact on those who served alongside him.
“Markham was not just a great compatriot in the SCV, but a good friend,” members shared, reflecting on his leadership and commitment to the camp. His service and involvement were described as among the most impactful in the camp’s history.
An official obituary has been made available, and additional coverage of Dossett’s life and legacy can be found through local news sources in the Waco area.
In the wake of his passing, camp leadership has indicated that discussion of succession will take place at the upcoming camp meeting. Members are being encouraged to attend, as participation will be important during this transitional period.
The camp and the broader Sons of Confederate Veterans community have extended their condolences to Dossett’s family during this difficult time.
