The following are two short devotionals written by Billy Graham. Together, they remind us of the hope and truth found in Jesus Christ. The first points us toward the blessed hope of Christ’s return, while the second reminds us that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

The Blessed Hope of Christ’s Return

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”
Titus 2:13 KJV

One of the best ways to overcome discouragement is to remember that Christ is coming again. The Second Coming of Jesus Christ is one of the most thrilling and glorious truths in all the world.

When we look around and see pessimism on every side, we should remember that the Bible is the only Book in the world that accurately predicts the future. The Bible is more modern than tomorrow morning’s newspaper. It foretells the future and declares that the consummation of all things will include the return of Jesus Christ to this earth.

This blessed hope in Jesus Christ gives us strength when life feels dismal, depressing or gloomy. Christ can turn those dark clouds inside out. The sunlight of His love can still shine into the darkest part of your life.

Jesus Christ Is the Way and the Truth

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:6 KJV

With much of society becoming a disappointment, many young people have begun searching for answers on their own.

Everywhere I travel, I find young people asking important questions: What is truth? Who says so? What is right and what is wrong? Is there a final authority?

Yes, there is an authority. There is moral law, and it has been exemplified in a real Person. There is a genuine Hero in whom you can believe and who will never let you down. His name is Jesus Christ.

Jesus was born into a world as jumbled and riddled with injustice as ours, but He changed the world by changing people. He remains the source of hope and truth for every generation.

Our Hope Is Found in Christ

These two devotionals direct us toward the same unchanging foundation. Jesus Christ is our hope for the future and our source of truth today.

We can face discouragement with confidence because Christ is coming again. We can face confusion with certainty because Jesus has declared that He is the way, the truth and the life.
