Devotional Thought on GUIDANCE.
This is taken from one of my daily Devotional books.
Peter Marshall wrote the following and I think it still rings true today.
We know, our Father, that at this desperate hour in world affairs, we need thee. We need thy strength, thy guidance, thy wisdom. There are problems far greater than any wisdom of man can solve. What shall our leaders do in such an hour?
May thy wisdom and thy power come upon those whom have been entrusted leadership. May the responsibility lie heavily on their hearts, until they are ready to acknowledge their helplessness and turn to thee. Give to them the honesty, the courage, and the moral integrity to confess that they don’t know what to do. Only then can they lead us as a nation beyond human wisdom to thee, who alone hast the answer.
Lead us to this high adventure. Remind us that a “mighty fortress is our God”—not a hiding place where we can escape for an easy life, but rather an arsenal of courage and strength, the mightiest of all, who will march beside us into the battle for righteousness and world brotherhood.
Below are some scriptures that go along with GUIDANCE. All are taken from the KJV Bible.
Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation. Exodus 15:13
Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. Psalm 5:8
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:2-3
Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Psalm 25:4-5
For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death. Psalm 48:14
Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. Psalm 25:8-9
For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me. Psalm 31:3
Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. Psalm 86:11
And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ. 2 Thessalonians 3:5
And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. Isaiah 58:11
