“Words of Thought”

December 14, 2024

The statement and following scriptures below are taken from one of my daily Bible devotional study books.

He will save his people from their sins.

You know that he became a man so that he could take away our sins. That we can be finished with sin and live a good life. He is able to save completely all who come to God through him.

He was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was chastised that we might have peace; he was lashed—and we were healed! We are the ones who strayed away like sheep! We, who left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet God laid on him the guilt and sins of every one of us! He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he never said a word. From prison and trial they led him away to his death. It was written long ago that the Messiah must suffer…that his message of salvation should be taken from Jerusalem to all the nations: There is forgiveness of sins for all who turn to me. He came…to put away the power of sin forever by dying for us.

With mighty power, God exalted him to be a Prince and Savior….for repentance. In this man Jesus, there is forgiveness for our sins! Everyone who trusts in him is freed from all guilt and declared righteous—something the Jewish law could never do. Your sins have been forgiven in the name of Jesus our Savior.

Below are scriptures related to the above statement. All are taken from the KJV Bible.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.   Matthew 1:21

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.   1 John 3:5

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 1 Peter 2:24

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.   Hebrews 7:25

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.   Isaiah 53:5-8

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.   Luke 24:46, 47

For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. Hebrews 9:26

Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.   Acts 5:31

Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.   Acts 13:38, 39

I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake. 1 John 2:12

May these “Words of Thought” be a blessing unto you.
