Terry’s Texas Rangers Camp #1937 Earns First Place at Alvarado Pioneer & Old Settlers Parade

Terry’s Texas Rangers Camp #1937, part of the 7th Brigade of the Texas Division Sons of Confederate Veterans, received top honors at the Alvarado – Johnson County Pioneer & Old Settlers Parade in Alvarado, TX. The group participated with a decorated transport trailer carrying one of the camp’s 6-pounder cannons and a limber, creating a striking entry that highlighted Southern heritage and history.

The parade began with a cannon salute fired by the group, marking the start of the event. As the trailer, adorned with full flags, moved along the parade route, it was met with applause and enthusiasm from the several thousand spectators in attendance. Camp members distributed bags of candy along the way, further engaging with the crowd.

The entry’s craftsmanship and presentation earned it First Place in the parade, a recognition of the effort and dedication put forth by the group. The warm reception from the community underscored the significance of their participation in this long-standing event.
