On March 1st, members of the W.W. Heartsill Camp 314, Sons of Confederate Veterans, proudly represented their heritage in the Texas Krewe of Hebe Parade in Jefferson, Texas. This annual event, known for its vibrant celebration of history and tradition, saw the Heartsill Camp marching in uniform and showcasing an impressive float.

Honoring Southern Heritage in Jefferson
The 5th Brigade of the Texas Division oversees the area of Jefferson in Northeast Texas, as there is no longer an SCV camp in the town. Representing the Sons of Confederate Veterans, several camps from across the region participated in the parade.
- W.W. Heartsill Camp 314 (Marshall, TX): 8 members
- Upshur County Patriots Camp 2109 (Gilmer, TX): 4 members
- General Gregg Camp #958: 1 member
- Major Thomas Rosser Camp 2311 (Mt. Enterprise, TX): 2 members and a cannon

Distinguished Guests in Attendance
The parade was further distinguished by the presence of SCV Commander-in-Chief Donnie Kennedy and Lady Bettie, as well as Army of the Trans-Mississippi (ATM) Commander John McCammon and Mrs. McCammon. SCV Chief of Staff J.C. Hanna and Lady Elle were also present, showing their continued support for the Sons of Confederate Veterans and its mission.
Commander-in-Chief Kennedy actively participated by marching alongside the SCV members and handing out gifts to children, further engaging with the enthusiastic crowd. Many of the leadership also joined in riding on the float, making it a truly special occasion.

A Strong Turnout for a Historic Event
With an estimated crowd of 8,000 attendees, the Texas Krewe of Hebe Parade was a resounding success, providing an excellent platform to educate the public about Southern heritage. More precise attendance numbers will be shared as they become available.
