“Words of Thought”
September 7, 2024
The following is taken from a Bible devotional book I have titled “In Touch”.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with
wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 KJV
When I am weak, then I am strong. The Lord…has given me strength to perform this task. I am with you; that is all you need. My power shows up best in weak people. Now I am glad to boast about how weak I am; I am glad to be a living demonstration of Christ’s
power, instead of showing off my own power and abilities. Trust in the Lord God always, for in the Lord Jehovah is your everlasting strength. Give your burdens to the Lord. He will carry them. He will not permit the godly to slip or fall. Their weapons were shattered by the Mighty One of Jacob, the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel.
You come to me with a sword and a spear, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of the armies of heaven and Israel—the very God whom you have defied. I will rejoice in the Lord. He shall rescue me! From the bottom of my heart praise rises to Him. Where is his equal in all of heaven and earth? Who else protects the weak and helpless from the strong?
Below are scriptures verses related to the above writing. All scripture is taken from the KJV Bible.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in
distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10
And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring
Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of
the LORD, and my God shall be my strength. Isaiah 49:5
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in
weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of
Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
Isaiah 26:4
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the
righteous to be moved. Psalms 55:22
But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands
of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
Genesis 49:24
Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and
with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies
of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 1 Samuel 17:45
And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation. All my bones
shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too
strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?
Psalms 35:9-10
May these “Words of Thought” be a blessing unto you.
