Media Standards Policy

SCVTexas.org Media Standards

To maintain a professional, respectful, and consistent presence, all media submitted to SCVTexas.org must meet the following standards. Any media that does not meet these requirements will be rejected without notice or explanation.

General Rules

  1. Professional Quality – Media must be clear, sharp, and free of pixelation, heavy compression, watermarks, or excessive filters.

  2. Appropriate Content – Only media relevant to the Sons of Confederate Veterans, our mission, or approved events may be submitted.

  3. No Icon-Sized Images – Media must be full-size, high-quality files. Thumbnails, screenshots, or tiny icons are unacceptable.

Image Standards

  • Minimum Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (Full HD).

  • Preferred Format: JPEG or PNG.

  • Orientation: Use landscape whenever possible (portrait may be rejected if unsuitable for layout).

  • Cropping/Composition: Faces and main subjects must be centered and unobstructed.

  • File Size: At least 1 MB; overly compressed images will be rejected.

Video Standards

  • Minimum Resolution: 720p (1280 x 720).

  • Preferred Resolution: 1080p (1920 x 1080), 4K UHD (3840 × 2160) or higher.

  • Preferred Format: MP4 (H.264/H.265) or MOV

  • Stable Footage: Shaky, unfocused, or poorly lit clips will not be accepted.

  • Audio: Clear and free of excessive background noise.

Logo & Graphic Standards

  • File Type: Vector (SVG, AI, EPS) preferred.

  • Resolution: If raster (JPG/PNG), must be at least 300 DPI. (Printer quality)

  • No Screenshots: Logos or graphics pulled from social media, websites, or thumbnails will not be accepted.

Submission Policy

  • Media that does not meet these standards will be rejected without response.

  • Repeated low-quality submissions may result in removal of submission privileges.

  • If you are unsure about your media, assume it is not good enough.
