About This Camp
Founded in 1975, Alamo City Guards Camp #1325 is San Antonio’s longest-running, continually active camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV). Our mission is to honor the legacy of our Confederate ancestors who fought to defend their homes and families during the War Between the States (1861-1865), ensuring their sacrifices are remembered and their history preserved.
The camp takes its name from the Alamo City Guards, a Confederate infantry company organized in San Antonio in 1861. The unit was composed of local volunteers who answered the call to defend Texas and the Southern cause. These men embodied the values of service, duty, and perseverance, which our camp seeks to uphold through historical preservation and education.
Throughout our history, the Alamo City Guards Camp has been committed to protecting and sharing Southern heritage. Our projects include cemetery restorations, historical research, public outreach, and commemorative events. In 2024, we unveiled the Tejano Confederate Memorial Statue at the Ruiz-Herrera Cemetery in Von Ormy, honoring the contributions of Tejanos who fought for the Confederacy.

Membership in the camp is open to male descendants of Confederate veterans, with an inclusive Friends of the SCV program available for individuals of any age or background who support our mission. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we remain dedicated to preserving the memory and legacy of our ancestors for future generations.
The Alamo City Guards Camp #1325 is proud to partner with Confederate Coffee Company, a brand dedicated to preserving Southern heritage and supporting our mission. Through this partnership, we promote awareness and fundraising efforts that help sustain our historical preservation initiatives.
