DESCRIPTION:Join us for a SCV Central Texas Muster. Gates open Friday May 2 for campers and a 6PM BBQ kickoff dinner. We will be cooking a whole hog for Saturday and cooking will begin at noon. We need volunteers to watch in shifts all afternoon and night to keep the fire going\, Saturday we will have a safety briefing at 9AM and first round turkey shoot with black powder pistols starts at 10 am. We will have a simple lunch at noon. At 1 PM the Salt Works camp will have a short meeting. The afternoon turkey shoot with black powder rifles will start at 1:30. There will be an Old-fashioned pig roast dinner at 6:00pm. Please feel free to bring sides\, desserts\, and drinks. You will need to bring your own chairs. DESCRIPTION:The month of April of each year is recognized by many as Confederate History and Heritage Month throughout the South. The Sons of Confederate Veterans’ honors and remembers this part of our history by having a free “living history / show and tell” event at the Confederate Memorial Plaza as well as April is also the 24th anniversary of the Plaza. \nThere will be uniformed soldier’s encampment\, ladies in period attire and lots of displayed artifacts and weapons from long ago. This event has been arranged by the Sons of Confederate Veterans Grimes County Greys Camp #924 and supported by the SCV Texas Division and the SCV Texas 11th Brigade\, United Daughters of the Confederacy and Order of Confederate Rose. “Confederate Coffee Company will be there in support taking donations to support The Grimes County Greys Camp 924 and who will be serving coffee at the event as well as having coffee available for purchase.
